That’s my bee assignment for May: some Union Jack blocks sewn on paper, a fabulous block, it’s really tempting to start such a quilt for myself! #quiltsky

I‘ve been working on the #365blockschallenge for ages, lots of tiny blocks, each with an individual fabric choice, so exactly MY cup of tea! 🤩 This is my first corner block! I‘ve got three more corner blocks and three more outer borders to sew, so mayday you‘ll see the finish anytime soon

Long time no see here, I‘ve hardly had any quilting time until this week, so I‘ve got some projects done! I‘m trimming the quilts I have quilted this week. These are: 1.) Algorithmus Quilt After an improv score, 2.) Nine Patch & Snowball Quilt 3.) Ocean Waves Quilt with pillow shams. #quiltsky

Didn’t have much time for sewing in the past two weeks, but now I’m off to my machine! #quiltsky

Thank you! I thought it was a good idea to just make circle segments, but the layout didn’t guide the eye through the quilt at all. That was a lot of unsewing… 😅

At my quilt guild, we run a challenge every other year, and the current challenge is a kind of scrap vortex quilt (after the technique by @crazymomquilts) - I decided to use all my black and grey solid scraps, and obviously, after changing my layout, I still have some work to do… #quiltsky

Do you sew in bee groups? What are your February assignments? Mine were X And Plus blocks for @butterblume219.bsky.social - she had cut and packaged every block for us, we just had to sew. Thank you for this wonderful assignment, these blocks are cuteness!

I‘d leave it as is, it looks great, and nobody besides you knows that this pattern was supposed to look different. 😉

At the end of the day, there are always ten times more scraps than you need for that project… 🤗

My bee quilt is a top! My bee mates made the nine patches, I added the black corners to the low volume background squares and have sewn together the quilt top this morning. Inspired by the Nine Patch and Snowball Quilt by @saija_elina and thanks a million to my bee friends for their help! #quiltsky

Sew some WOF strips together and then subcut, mix and sew again, then you can achieve the pebbled cobble stone look without having to sew a million small squares. 😉😀

Fabulous work! I made 6 different Quiltville Mystery quilts, they are a lot of work but definitely worth the effort.

This is my latest finished quilt, my Crazy Tula New York Beauty Quilt adapted from the book New York Beauty and Flying Geese Quilts by Carl Hentsch, all Tula Pink fabrics, longarmed by Katrin Lobeck @lokasquiltart (on IG), big stitch handquilted by me - definitely an all time favourite! #quiltsky

The manufacturer Hobbs indicates a maximum spacing of 4“ between your quilt lines. Even if you don’t plan on washing this quilt, the batting might sag when hanging a while. I would rather add additional quilting lines than risk any sagging or distortion of your beautiful quilt.
