If you are a big fan of SCP stuff, I highly recommend at least checking out the lore of Control. You can tell it’s very inspired by the SCP Foundation, with the FBC basically acting as a Foundation that contains ordinary objects with anomalous properties

The locked doors part is more of a personal issue. I know old metroidvanias don’t show locked doors on the map but I think I’m spoiled by newer games. It just sucks cause the main reason to explore is to find more background lore and there’s no way to track what you have missed

The Federal Bureau of Control is so interesting cause I actually can’t think of any other game that takes place all in a government building. Also said government building is basically the SCP Foundation and it makes the lore about the place and anomalous objects in it so interesting to learn about

Been playing Control and honestly this game fucking rocks. There’s some parts of it that I’m iffy on (the map doesn’t show locked doors despite being a metroidvania and there’s modern “stat go up” loot mechanics) but the physics based combat/gunplay is fun and I love the setting

I always associate him with Persona cause his philosophy about the collective subconscious is a major building block of all the games. Hell it wouldn’t be called Persona if not for Jung’s definition of a person’s “persona”
