Exterior, Henshey's Department Store 1940. Located in the Tegner Building, 4th Street, and Santa Monica Boulevard from 1925 to 1992. Founded by Harry C. Henshey and partners, it was Santa Monica's first department store.

The Ebony Beach Club 1811 Ocean Avenue. In May 1957, entrepreneur Silas White purchased the former Elks Club to open an African American beach club. During the permitting process, the City of Santa Monica seized the property through eminent domain.
