NEW: Tons of recent news reports have mentioned the fact that Claude works inside war tech from Palantir to help the Pentagon select its targets.
But how does this actually work? What specifically is Claude doing vs not doing?
I broke down everything we know:

Don't be like Allie Beth Stuckey, join me and @missdiedra.bsky.social, and learn about what the Bible actually has to say about immigrants.

The position “American shuls are presumed valid targets unless they proactively disavow Israel” is as wrong as “American Muslims need to proactively disavow Islamist violence to be considered good, loyal Americans.” Both are racist, and both are wrong.
Sigh
If your response to seeing the horrific, targeted attack on a preschool at Temple Israel synagogue in Michigan is "but Israel," then you are antisemitic
LOL of course not
I find it baffling how many people online are acting like Israel controls the U.S. It does not.
As we face the aftermath of another synagogue attack, reminder: The federal government is now requiring synagogues to cooperate with ICE and have no DEI programs to be eligible for federal security funding, which were not requirements pre-Trump administration. www.timesofisrael.com/us-jewish-le...
As long as Christians think they own Judaism, they will impose Christian models of behavior on Judaism, and they will tell us we are broken and doing Judaism wrong.
This is a textbook example of an abusive relationship.
Non-Jews need to stop parsing Jewish identity using categories linked to defining religion strictly in terms of belief.
Resources/recommendations for further reading are welcome! I'm sure there are people already studying/writing on this topic.
I was thinking about how 'Mexico' centers the Mexica people/empire in its naming convention, while dozens of other Indigenous peoples had (and continue to have) sustained presence. Tarahumara, Otomí, Purépecha, Maya, etc.
Wondering if there are similar conversations around that as well.
Thinking aloud: if it's not acceptable/preferable for the USA's colloquial demonym to be 'Americans', how do we address naming this continent after a European explorer (Amerigo Vespucci)?
Is colonialism/empire the primary factor in resisting 'America' in our language, but being ok with 'Mexico'?
I recognize the growing resistance to calling the USA just "America," and also wonder if there are discussions around the official name for Mexico being 'Estados Unidos Mexicanos', the United Mexican States'. I'm thinking specifically about the shades of colonialism/imperialism.

"Blaming Israel is often antisemitic—it enacts the ancient trope of the scheming Jew pulling strings behind the curtain of gentile power. But the ADL has no standing to make that argument. It has spent years insisting that American Jewish interests and Israeli state interests are identical."
Also, I'm not laying the blame at the IL gov't exclusively; it's become much more popular in the last decade or so to use "blood libel" incorrectly, whether it's that gov't, average Jews, or even Xians
anyone who isn't Jewish or a textual scholar using "Talmudic" is an instant 🚩
Oh, fucking hell.
(Temple Israel, for my followers who know something about Detroit shuls.)
I really need some academic studies on the modern shift of usage for "blood libel." It has/had a very specific historic meaning and application related to *Christian* accusations of Jewish blood-rituals on *Christian* children. Now it's just "saying anything mean to an Israeli or Jewish person."
Like, dropping the charges because daring to hold any IDF soldier accountable for rape is
[checks notes]
blood libel
.........?????
we can tell it's the "only democracy in the Middle East" because the selectively and legally-privileged δῆμος (demos) said that raping a Palestinian prisoner with a knife is okay
Rape caught on camera won't even be put to trial, well I guess that's just how it goes for the only moral army on the planet in the only moral country to ever exist.
Sodomizing a Palestinian prisoner with a knife on camera is apparently legal in Israel
In related news to Israel's total and comprehensive lack of anything resembling the ability or willingness to hold itself and its soldiers to account, the Netherlands and Iceland are both joining the ICJ case against Israel on the issue of the Genocide Convention.
"Illinois" "Suburban Chicago" — look just skip to the chase and say this was in Rosemont, aka the tiny personal fiefdom of one very lucky, very evil family:
Just finished writing this, inspired by your request
Shammai is describing how it takes active courage and intentional work NOT to continue cycles of persecution and violence. It's simply easier to hurt someone else when you've been hurt, rather than going through a therapy process where you interrupt that cycle of harm.
I think often of this one Baldwin paragraph, not specifically because of Jewish contexts but because of the assumptions that are often made about what oppression does to anyone

Every single leader that refuses to do anything is an utter coward and eternal loser.
The US made itself so indispensable to the global order that other countries are just holding their breaths, hoping this go back to “normal” because they’re afraid of what happens to their own power if they admit the emperor has no clothes.
The fact that every nation hasn’t issued the highest level of travel warning for the US is just sane washing on an international scale.
