Four years ago we, #RightsForResidents, delivered on of the biggest #SocialCare petitions ever - over 275,000 signatures supporting us asking for the legal right to a #CareSupporter #GloriasLaw

We have a desperate shortage of care workers. This has a catastrophic effect on the NHS too.

Labour’s decision to close the care worker visa scheme for overseas recruitment is appalling, kneejerk politics that - yet again - will penalise the most vulnerable.

It really makes no sense, with over 140,00 vacancies in social care, politicians seem to have such disregard for the people, jobs, social care sector, they will soon find a much bigger problem than nhs waiting lists exploding #RightsForResidents

Hi everyone! Some of you may remember me from that other place (X). I'm still posting there but missing some folk who moved here only so I'll be running on both just now. I'm a career care home gal, passionate about changing the image of care homes. Spread the news that I'm here now!

Today is a #dayofreflection. We remember the #carehome residents, our loved ones lost. Through the pain and anger there is also friendship and a determination to make sure that never again can this happen. The legal right to a #CareSupporter must become law #GloriasLaw #RightsForResidents

An interesting read. 5 years on, we reflect on the lives lost and continued fight to get #GloriasLaw, the legal right to a #CareSupporter. For those in care, to have been separated from the people who knew them the best for such an extended time, we must never allow this again #RightsForResidents

Thank you Neil for your support. It shouldn't be necessary, but worryingly we are hearing of closures that before the pandemic wouldn't have happened. We should all be able to have those that we want, those that know us, with us, when we are at our most vulnerable #GloriasLaw #RightsForResidents

Given my dad's death was brought about through his isolation on a hospital ward, while living with dementia, during a local lockdown in 2020, I support this measure, but I also find it deeply disturbing and problematic that, absent the conditions of a pandemic, it should even be vaguely necessary
