I had to make weekly phone calls to my GP surgery to get a vaccine for my 91 year old Dad. He finally received it a few days before Christmas. There appears to be a lack of human resource to administer the vaccine.

I don’t think people outside the sector fully understand the extent of the impact charities make. So many charities are on the brink of extinction and there is nothing to take their place.

I’m a serial supporter of charities. But I’ve just abandoned my one off payment to a charity because of the prolonged and tedious online payment process.
All the effort their marketing/fundraising teams took to get me there. Wasted. So important to look at the whole donor journey.

NUJ has guidelines, taking regional differences into account and also research time.

We should first invest in providing consistently good palliative and end of life care. We are living longer, so the number of people needing palliative care will increase massively in the next few years. We need to equip more people with the skills to deliver appropriate end of life care.

Yes, libraries are invaluable for their collections and public services they offer, but also social contact without the expectation to interact with anyone or spend any money is so important to so many people

Latest research from Marie Curie suggests we are going to see a 25% increase in people needing palliative care by 2043. Funding needs to be sorted as a matter of urgency.

My mum also received hospice care. It had such a profound effect on me that I became a hospice trustee for the next ten years and currently work with a palliative and end of life care charity. It’s all woefully underfunded.
