Flock isn’t Amazon’s only surveillance partnership. It also works with Axon, a company most known for selling tasers, body cameras, and surveillance dashboards to police. Axon also lets police request Ring footage without a warrant.

LAPD officers got free swag from Ring, some promoted its cameras to the public Ring provided at least 100 LAPD officers with free devices or discounts and encouraged them to endorse and recommend its doorbell and security cameras to police and members of the public.

Amazon might have cut ties with Flock due to backlash, but links to the surveillance state are baked into its business model. Ring became the #1 doorbell camera in the market via police partnerships, even hawking free devices to attract customers. www.latimes.com/business/tec...

The Department of Homeland Security is flooding social media platforms with subpoenas demanding they unmask the people behind anti-ICE accounts.
