If you're biking with a dog, I can recommend this Atera Strada DL3 rack.
Very stable. Holds 4 bikes with the optional additional rail and slides back to let your best bud in the back.
Ours has easily coped carrying 4 bikes SCO to FRA and is so quick and easy to use. Much more secure than Thule.
