04.08.2025 05:08 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Book text: My husband plays the trumpet, which is a sort of loud pretzel originally invented to blow down the walls of fucking Jericho and, later, to let Civil War soldiers know it was time to kill each other in a river while you chilled eating pigeon in your officer's tent twenty miles away, yet some-how, in modern times, it has become socially acceptable to toot the bad cone inside your house before 10:00 a.m. because it's "your job" and your wife should "get up." What a world! If one was feeling uncharitable, one might describe the trumpet as a machine where you put in compressed air and divorce comes out, but despite this-despite operating a piece of biblical demolition equipment inside the home every bright, cold morning of his wife's one and only lifeβthe trumpet is not the most annoying thing about my husband.

The picture shows the front of a convenience store, with warm light coming from the inside, standing out among the blue hues of the night. A man (my OC) holding a red umbrella and a shopping bag is standing in front of the store, watching a little bird by his feet. The bird is looking back at him. Thereβs a bike resting against a utility pole next to them. The ground is wet and full of reflections. Two cherry blossom trees are towering above the street. Thereβs a small balcony and a dimly lit window above the store.

The Imbrium Basin is one of the largest of the giant impact basins whose formation highlighted the later stages of the formative era of the Solar System. Here we see some peaks of it's massive rim, mostly the shadowed sides here, made from photographs taken of the surroundings. Many of these photos had bad Sun glare in them and much processing and retouching was required to suppress the glare. In the foreground we see parts and antennas of the Lunar Module. This is roughly 210 degrees of the 360 degree panorama.
54 years ago the Apollo 15 mission was exploring the Hadley Rille area of the rim of the Moon's vast ancient Imbrium Basin. After landing, the 'top' hatch was opened and David Scott obtained panoramas of the surroundings from an elevated view, something done only once. Here is a part of that view.
