The 'to do' list is very small now....
Assigned some 'more realistic' high scores, and adjusted the bonus awarded at the end of each level, so you have some chance of the first digit in the score being used ! π
Leading zeroes have been ditched from the high score display....
Won't be long now....
'Search for the Lost Orb' is a text-based adventure game for the BBC Micro that I found whilst going through my disk collection. So far I have been unable to find out who actually wrote it. I asked the people on stardot, but had no luck. I think it could be Andy Bray (RIP) who I knew well BITD.
Just for fun this evening, played Mega-CD Soul Star. Kina funny playing one of my own games, but I was in the mood...
Did make me think of doing a PC retro style version. Same graphics and sound, but running at a much higher frame rate, plus loads more fx sprites!π Hmm... Might do it just for fun.π

Just testing some stuff with a non-zero value in the clear screen procedure.... Highlighted a few issues, one with the DUCK sprite where I was wiping a bit too much than was necessary !
Pretty-much fixed, saved some more cycles !
Dodge mines π£ and bridge pilings π at high speed while ensuring you don't end up as a snack for a hungry crocodile π

One of the things I wanted to do with my Commodore 64 Ultimate was use the Swiftlink MODEM emulation layer to write some games/BBS that used it. I put together a video about programming it in BASIC.
Its a long at an hour :(

Curry with friends tonight when I realised....
Harry is 16 pixels high, that's 2 character rows, let's call them harry_head and harry_belly.
I'm checking both for egg or grain collection. But grain ALWAYS sits on the floor, so I don't have to check his head for grain ! π
