I needed a break from sewing because the kimono mock up is kicking my ass 😂
So I learned 3D modelling instead!
I used Blender and various YouTube tutorials to learn the basics but I'm pretty happy with the progress so far!

I followed a mix of Billy Matsunaga's and M Kimono's Hanjuban tutorials.
I am in LOVE with the sleeves!!
This took a lot of handsewing, mostly for the blind hems but for regular seams too, just because 😂

Almost completed Hadagi, a short sleeve two-panel open shirt. The neckline and one of the sleeves haven't been bias binded yet.

Followed a japanese tutorial by Oharibako
Had to fully re-do it 😂 I originally used some of the tutorial's measurements that thought were standardised and not body related. I was WRONG 🤣 But it's pretty straightforward otherwise!

OP wearing the finished datemaki, a long strip of cloth that is wrapped around the chest 3 times and tied to support the chest when wearing a kimono.

Followed a Billy Matsunaga tutorial, very easy to make!
If I remake it, I'll probably make it longer as Billy wraps hers around 3 times fully and mine wraps about 2.5 times

OP wearing the finished Susoyoke, a Japanese wrap skirt that is worn as a kimono undergarment.

Trim used for the bottom part of the skirt. White mermaid scales are embroidered on tulle, however the tulle has been caught folded on itself under the embroidery in some places.

Mostly followed a Japanese tutorial by comichiko, but I did a version with a trim for a mermaid touch!
The trim I got off Etsy was not the greatest as the base tulle was folded over in some places so had to cut it strategically 🤔
Overall, very easy project!
