I kiss her back. "That's a good idea. I'll make sure the kids eat before they head outside."

I kiss her back and then watch her when she gets up.

I chuckle. "Only a little and it's supposed to stop snowing later this morning...at least for a while."

I softly say, "You didn't react wrong, baby. Thomas is probably annoyed at Deacon for dropping it on you, and Deacon has probably spent the time berating himself for being an idiot."

"They're probably trying to make things easier on you." I softly say.

I nod. "Yes. I mean, I'm fine with my brothers." I shrug. "I may smack Deacon for blindsiding you, but otherwise, I'm okay."

I softly kiss her temple. "I'm okay with whatever you want and decide, baby."

I continue running my fingers through her hair. "I think anyone's brain would be spinning. Not knowing isn't a bad thing and you have no reason to feel badly about it. Taking time to process is perfectly reasonable."

I sigh. "Typical Deacon, just blurting things out." I run my fingers through her hair. "Aside from the confusion and believing you're a moron...which you aren't...how do you feel about them?"

I kiss her head. "What are you thinking about?"

I come out after getting dressed for the day and curl around her. "Morning, baby."

I nod. “Yeah. No one is worried about something happening here. If they were, you’d have Deacon and Thomas glued to your sides and not just Eddie outside.”

I nod. “He was worried about something happening while I was on the road. Everyone is safe here.”

I nod. “Yeah. He thought I should know what’s going on in case some stupid moron got any bright ideas.”

I hug Myra and then watch Rosie work

I laugh. “People in this family? Plotting? Never.” I sit down at the counter.

“I was on the road already. Leigh told me I didn’t need to bother coming home first, so I figured I’d get a few days in with my favourite people before your grouchy husbands arrive.” I set her on her feet.

I pick her up as I hug her tightly. “Hey sweetheart.”

It’s close to dinner time when I get to Aspen, so when I walk into Leigh’s house, I head straight to the kitchen to find @bruisedpetals.bsky.social. “Honey, I’m home!”

When I get the message, I reply quickly.

I nod. “Yeah. Okay.”

I press my face into her hair. “Of course I had to come. My girl is hurt.” I carry her towards Jez.

I snort. “I said too much.” I get up and quickly move over to Myra, carefully scooping her into my arms. “Hi baby.”

I nod. “I’ve been there. Just don’t overwork your jaw by eating anything difficult or talking too much and yeah, you’ll be okay.”

I softly say, “How are you feeling?”

I nod and squeeze her hand.

I hum. “Accounting for everyone…Jasper is the prettiest. Gus is second. But their girlfriends are murderous.” I laugh.

(Beck)

I laugh. “Well…not accounting for the very taken ones with the scary girlfriends…Brandon. Brandon is the prettiest.”

(Alex)

“We’re applying for emergency full custody, right?”

Alex nods. “Okay, sweetheart.”

Beck sits next to Jez as he laughs. “I’m not even the prettiest brother.”

Alex stands up and hugs Beck. “You seem calm.”

Beck snorts. “It’s all an act.”
