For years I’ve been (moderately) ok with making a bit less money, but loving the work I do, good benefits, and stability. My job got me through COVID. Now…90 percent of my research institute has been dismantled in a week. Over 2 decades of hard, good work…gone overnight. And it’s not even over yet.
This. As someone who works in a field that is actively being defunded and attacked, I’ve seen first hand how easy it is to destroy and how difficult it is to build. These attacks are so devastating bc by the time we even can rebuild…I fear the damage will be done.
