Colorblind Ideology Is a Form of Racism The need for colorblindness implies there is something shameful about people of color that we shouldn’t see or talk about.

RFK Jr. says we should be a “colorblind” country.
That’s not a thing.

Health disparities by race are REAL: cancer, maternal mortality, COVID hospitalizations… Black, Hispanic, Native communities bear the brunt.

“Colorblindness” is lazy and dangerous racism.

Oh dear, it’s happening again! I’ve stumbled upon what I believe (in this endorphin rush that is a new idea) is possibly the catchiest hook for a book possible. Super relevant, super marketable, and super…not the book I’m supposed to be working on 😐. It is very new and shiny, though… #amwriting

The Trump administration has launched a war on students and young people studying science.

It’s a common thread. Trump is killing student fellowship grants at NIH and NSF, and is killing the NIH and CDC in-house fellows programs.

@altnih4science.bsky.social, how are we amplifying voices of those scientists suffering because of DOGE, especially on platforms that aren’t as left-leaning as Bluesky?

This is what happens when funding systems are gutted in the name of efficiency. I’m sure research with the goal of saving kids from dying from organ failure wasn’t MEANT to be on the chopping block, but by ruining our tried and true (and very rigorous!) systems for scientific funding, all suffer.

Looks like an internal RFA at my institution that I’ve been working tirelessly on is being canceled 4 days before the due date. This would have been my first grant application as an Assistant Professor. I’m crushed. I guess work on pediatric kidney and liver transplant rejection will have to wait.
