BREAKING - Liberal Democrats have overtaken Reform to become the largest group on Cornwall Council.
We are the only party that can stand up and win against Nigel Farage, Reform and their divisive, populist politics.

Brexit had blown a black hole in the public finances that the Conservatives and Reform wonβt apologise for.
Will the Prime Minister fix it, or just keep complaining?

Graphic showing a laughing Nigel Farage - above are the words Lib Dems defeat Farage's plan to undermine our Human Rights
Liberal Democrat MPs just defeated Nigel Farageβs Bill in Parliament to tear up peopleβs rights and withdraw from the ECHR.
Farage wants to do away with the Britain Churchill built and turn it into Trump's America. We won't let him.

TEXT: Dick was a passionate, principled and thoughtful colleague who will be sorely missed by all of us in the Liberal Democrat family.
A founding member of our party, Dick was a passionate European who inspired us all with his sharp intelligence and incredible experience in government, politics and beyond over many decades.
His long and exceptional record of public service is an inspiration to us all, a reminder of what politics can be at its best.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and all those who loved him.
Ed Davey
Leader of the Liberal Democrats
We are deeply saddened by the passing of Lord Dick Taverne. He will be greatly missed by all of us, and his colleagues in the House of Lords.
His life and long record of public service stand as an inspiration and a reminder of politics at its best.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family.

Chris Philp failed FIVE times to call out Reform MP Sarah Pochinβs blatantly racist comments.
The Conservatives are too scared of Reform to call out this racism for what it is.
Liberal Democrats will always call out racism and stand up for a decent, tolerant Britain.

MAX WILKINSON QUOTE GRAPHIC
TEXT:Sarah Pochinβs so-called apology was nothing more than a shameless attempt to dodge responsibility for her own words.
Instead of showing a shred of remorse, sheβs doubled down and tried to excuse the inexcusable.
Nigel Farage keeps insisting that racism has no place in his party.
Now is his chance to prove it - he must withdraw the whip or concede that Reform tolerates blatant racism.
Nigel Farage insists racism has no place in his party. But Sarah Pochinβs racist comments tell a different story.
He must withdraw the whip or admit that Reform tolerates blatant racism.

If Sarah Pochin doesnβt lose the whip we can only assume her disgraceful racist comments are endorsed by her party. And if diversity on TV is really driving her βmadβ, maybe she could try educating herself on why it matters - and why her language was completely inappropriate for an MP.

βTwo years ago, we watched in horror those appalling scenes of Hamasβs evil terrorist attack on Israel. 1,200 innocent people brutally slain, including hundreds of young people at a music festival. Others raped, sexually assaulted and mutilated. 251 people taken hostage, ripped away from their families.
βThose terror attacks also triggered a shocking rise in antisemitism here in the UK β a terrible scourge that took the lives of Adrian Daulby and Melvin Cravitz at their synagogue last week.
βWe stand in solidarity with British Jews, the people of Israel and Jewish communities around the world against terrorism and against antisemitism in all its forms.
βThis cycle of violence has gone on for far too long, caused far too much suffering and claimed far too many innocent lives.
βWith new peace talks under way, we desperately hope that they will finally see the hostages returned home to their families, a lasting bilateral ceasefire, Hamas out of power in Gaza for good." Ed Davey

Keir Starmer wants to force everyone to have a digital ID.
But the Liberal Democrats say thatβs not the kind of country we should be. Instead, the government should focus on fixing real problems like the NHS and social care.

Today I met with President Abbas.
We discussed the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the need to end the appalling suffering of Palestinians, secure the release of the hostages still held in brutal captivity by the Hamas terrorists, and how we ensure a two-state solution.
