Earlier this week, I completed my eighth artwork picture at the Whale Arts open studio.

Title: For King And Country

Initially, I was unsure how to complete the picture but particularly liked the idea of mixing the chess pieces and modern military equipment together ☺️🖼️🎨

Sunday 2nd November was a nice Bonfire and Fireworks Night at Burntisland in Fife ☺️🔥🎇

It was a nice change of location, having been to displays elsewhere in Musselburgh and Bridge of Allan in recent years.

I was stood at the front of the crowd in front of the bonfire 👀🔥

This afternoon I completed my new artwork picture and on a theme that is pretty dear to my heart.

I don't get enough of these and I suspect that most people feel the same way too. 🫂💚🧡

Title: Harvest Supermoon

I'm particularly fond of the coloured rings that I drew low down in the night sky and reflected/amplified across the sea water. Those were my favourite parts to colour in ☺️💜🎨

On Saturday 18th October, I travelled on the Paddle Steamer Waverley for the second time in 2025.

This time our sailing route was Glasgow-Arrochar-Glasgow, via Kilcreggan, Dunoon & Loch Long.

It was pretty cold with a strong breeze out on the water. However, it was a lovely day out once again ☺️

The moon was still looking pretty big out there tonight ☺️🌔💜

This was taken slightly eastwards of Wardie Bay on the north coast of Edinburgh.

I completed my latest artwork yesterday called Ringing In The Ears - I've had bad tinnitus and muffled hearing in my right ear for a few weeks now and have just been referred by my doctor to Audiology because it's simply not going away.

Hopefully my picture conveys the frustration of it all 😑

This afternoon I paid a visit to the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh, for what is becoming an autumn tradition of mine ☺️🌳🍂🍂

As well as lots of fiery red, yellow and golden leaves, there seemed to be an abundance of purple, blue and pink flowers in bloom. 💜💙🩷

Very sad that the main website has closed : I met and got to know some members through its sister site Duopoly.

Sadly that site closed down some time ago as well but at least this platform is an opportunity to keep the spirit alive.

I was known as 'bassman' on both websites. ☺️

I haven't done a topless selfie on social media for a very long time now but ... you know what, I still feel really good about it.

Especially as purple is my favourite colour ☺️💜🙏🏻

On Thursday evening, I made a return trip to the Hidden Door Arts 'Paper Factory' venue to witness the opening evening of "Edge Of Matter".

It was a really cool arts exhibition showcase containing many types of visual media and pictures 🎨 🖼️☺️

Saturday 20th September was Stirling Pride Day: a full circle moment for me as it was at Stirling Uni in the '90s that I first initially realised that I was gay.

I'd like to thank all the organisers on the committee for making this the best Pride event experience I've ever had ☺️💜🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🙏🏻

This afternoon, I successfully completed my new artwork picture, again using felt tipped pens 🎨🖼️

I made this from the POV of feeling relatively self-protected and staying strong in the face of hostility.

The flames were my favourite part to draw. ☺️🔥🔥🔥

Saturday 13th September was a fab gig night at SWG3 POETRY CLUB featuring: Ryan Brown & Georgia Laing plus Blair Gilmour and his band warming up the crowd for the headliner Fraser McLean, seen below ☺️

It was a sold-out gig, so that tells you the high esteem in which all the performers are held ☺️💜🙏🏻

Two nights ago, I wandered over to the pond at Inverleith Park here in Edinburgh, via the Water of Leith Walkway and Dean Village, in need of some walking steps and getting away from life stresses.

It was lovely to see the night skyline and Edinburgh Castle illuminated like that ☺️🌃💜

This afternoon I successfully completed my 3rd artwork picture, again using felt tipped pens 🎨🖼️

I made this piece because I feel that I'm at one of life's pinch points and heavily inspired to make it quite plain that I'm an empath person.

I chose the colours of the heart balloon to reflect this.

Last night, I did another Open Mic Night for August21 Coffee Shop, hosted by Chloe's Magic Mic 🎤

This time, I performed a poem called Twainbows and also sang two cover songs by Mercury Rev and Phoebe Bridgers called Holes and Scott Street respectively. ☺️💜🎶

Today marks the end of the 2025 Edinburgh Fringe ☺️💜

My series of shows ended with a Fringe Edition of Queer Folks Tales, hosted by Turan Ali and featuring Jade Stein (who stood in for Sinead Walsh), Mike McKenzie with Carron Miller, Sam Williams, Maddie Fernando, Dylan Adler and Kuan Wen Huang.
