Did a big bike ride yesterday, a bit of a race but also not a race, 5 timed segments and what was supposed to be an easy ride in between. It was not an easy ride in between, held on with my friends for 50 miles and had to ride the rest solo, looong day in the heat. But! Finished 3rd!

We tried very hard, with my best power output for an XC race ever, it just turns out that you have to ride the mtb to be fast in an mtb race… absolutely eating shit 3 minutes in probably didn’t help either though
Final ride out yesterday before heading off to Belgium tomorrow to race!!
90 miles with less climbing than Box Hill, going to be an interesting day

and was reminded that MTB is my first love, there is nothing more exhilerating than flying through tight singletrack, dodging trees and keeping other riders at bay, all while breathing through a straw at 170bpm
The pieces have finally started falling together!! DNF at round 1, DNS at round 2, and FINALLY at round 3, we were firing on all cylinders and finished in 4th, 6 minutes off the podium and well off of the win. But, we're moving in the right direction again, I felt like my old self on the bike
I came 4th!!!! We’re finally seeing some progress, I was well off of the podium, but I absolutely turned myself inside out and finishing 4th!!!
