I also believe lanolin has some underlying issues too from the metal virus arc. If you pay close attention to the storytelling. Mimic preyed on them and they were victims once again. Surge/kit and clutch, jewel also being apart of it. Also making other characters like sonic look the way they did.

It was because of tangle and silver and her old team members. Lanolin betrayed her team members since She doesn't respect her team mates like Whisper who is also traumatized by her own past. (Accept a mimic.) Tangle has her own rules of how she works with others.

That's the way i see it.

Orders for the job she's been hired to do are More important than her own Morals or someone elses. She wouldn't be one if she were to trust people. Which would also betray her old mercenary friends to her. The moment she's given a task she has to do it. It's no wonder she jumped mimic with lanolin.

As a mercenary she has to go after mimic. Since tangle is there it's a part of that job now. She obviously feels she's betraying her friends by not listening to her team members. Now tangle is a team member for her. She doesn't trust people, because of her job. And as a mercenary her team mates and-

It's obvious to me why she'd react the way she has. She's traumatized of others. Tangle has her own rules of how she works with others(friends too of course.) So whisper thought she was betraying her old team members by not listening to tangle. She got self conscious. She's sensitive.
