Just seeing the RCT 'scandal' brewing among econs again. This is not a question about some bad apples or some instances of malpractice. The RCT industry has been completely distorted from its inception in Econ and this is closely tied to the incentive structure of the discipline.

We looked at this replication paper as part of the new Advanced Econometrics course at the New School! Really illuminated how much you can get away with without scrutiny under the current incentive systems.

I would imagine using the Macro Simulation model to help with training could really help as well. macrosimulation.org looks like I know how my weekend is going to be occupied!

This is so interesting! I've not played around with Deepseek enough to try to construct heterodox models, but I'm curious about how replicable and robust this would be!
