Greetings from the Dirksen federal courthouse, where U.S. District Court Judge Sara Ellis has just taken the bench to rule on federal agents actions' during a series of increasingly aggressive raids across Chicago and the suburbs.

How can I want it so much when I didn’t even know it was an options two minutes ago?
Same place folks get the idea that *they* don’t need proof of citizenship to get a TDL because “they should be able to tell I’m American just looking at me!”
<-- can't care about or focus on the tariff nonsense when Trump just openly articulated a plan to begin abducting and remanding US citizens to foreign concentration camps without due process
It’s important for people like us (cis, white, older) to risk arrest not just because our arrest experience is safer for us than BIPoC. (Still important!)

Watch “one person one vote?” on PBS if you get a chance. Very good doc on the EC and why we have it, against the backdrop of Colorado’s referendum on the national popular vote compact.
Also incidentally includes Lauren Boebert’s origin story, a dude who was an elector for Kanye, and Jan6 up close.
