The euphoria is pretty dang high today
This is an enormous step forward for women of people.
Rock Springs and Leviticus are both amazing films to boot
Today was an impeccable day seeing my fave film of the fest so far, but few things are going to top high-fiving with Kelly Marie Tran over Trans Rights
Miho Kanno's performance is quickly becoming my favorite aspect of the film
Horror winning big this year is so beautiful. Underrated, powerful, moving genre... Itโs not just about fear, itโs about disgust, shitty social norms, science gone wrong, itโs about deconstructing horrific realities. My favorite genre recognized. #Oscars
If there's one good thing about the Oscars going to YouTube in 3 years: in theory, time constraints like this won't matter.
LEVITICUS may just be a Queer horror masterpiece. The terror of longing, of discovery, of betrayal is all subtext-as-text in a primal fucking scream of a movie, and well as the powerful weapon that is standing up for what and who you love most. Best of #SXSW2026 so far.
Weโre gonna have 3 undeniably horror movies win gold tonight. Thatโs something to celebrate for the ages
Now seated for my most anticipated of SXSW
Best Supporting Actor
Broken clocks, etc. ๐
Also, Kelly Marie Tran is just transcendent in this movie. Few horror films balance grief and terror this well, but Tran knows how to guide the audience through the rocky ruins of this characterโs journey so damn well.
ROCK SPRINGS: A haunting story about families fractured by loss, the hunger of grief, and how hate and isolation can make monsters of us all. Vera Miao has such a control over sound and image here, blending real-life atrocities with traditional folklore in sharp, insightful ways. #SXSW2026
He finally snuck up on a man whoโs been in a chemical fire
Rewrite rules! Canโt wait to see it again.
Briekenstocks
A billion comedy points
OVER YOUR DEAD BODY continues a string of bloody and bonkers crowd pleasers at #SXSW2026. Jorma Taccone fuses his honed comedy skills with surprisingly kinetic action filmmaking, with Jason Segal, Samara Weaving, and a surprising ensemble bringing gruesomely fun rage to this romantic thriller
I want to see some of your favorite final shots in film history.
Deserved!
POWER BALLAD: Paul Rudd and Nick Jonas are the perfect choices to deliver some choice new John Carney songs in a bitingly sweet revenge storyโone that never loses sight of the heart and exhilaration that a single night of unrestrained creativity can bring with the right collaborator. #SXSW2026
FAMILY MOVIE: The Bacon famโs horror movie get-together is an infectious joy, a bite sized love letter to family, filmmaking, and the murderous foibles both can bring out. If you love One Cut of the Dead as much as Happiness of the Katakuris, check this one out. #SXSW2026
Austin is in a perpetual state of new road projects at inconvenient times. Namely I35, which should publish some self help books b/c itโs always working on itself
put me in, coach
This was wiiiild
NEVER AFTER DARK: What a thrill ride! A backroads hotel exorcism with a single character spins into some wild Timecrimey placesโits love of J-Horror is on full display before confidently zagging into its own bizarre lane. Also, what a welcome surprise to see Mutsuo Yoshioka pop up here! #SXSW
Survived the SXSW shuttles to Alamo Lamar. Time for a drink or two.
