True. My main problems that aren't problems with all of it's contemporaries and are also my problems with II is just vague direction on where to go, confusing and poorly designed dungeons, way too grindy, and annoyingly slow gameplay.

But there was a lot of good in them, and a lot of eccentricity.

It's better than people give it credit. It's just a departure from II and I feel most of the dislike for it is only because it's not II. It could be better, and IV is one of the best JRPGs ever made but III is still pretty good imo
