Hot weather has never been conducive to producing TWIC. Today maybe has been a bit better than the last few days but relieved to get finished.

There was a thumping 9.5-3.5 win for Anish Giri over Hans Niemann in their rerematch on June 18th (they had a rematch on June 4th and an original match last year) on endgame.ai . I extracted the games for viewing and download.

Giri 9.5-8.5 Hans Niemann blitz match on endgame.ai
Giri looked dead and buried but won the last four games. In the final game he was down to the increment when Niemann had 90 seconds. That should have been a losing position on the clock. Games and results:

Carlsen has a choice. Get paid good money to play exhibition chess, with not much on the line, or play with more at stake and be an elite sportsman. The potential for pain is a part of this. Nakamura's mild reaction to resigning a won position vs Carlsen in the Chess.com classic was very telling.
