A lot of pokémon discourse ends up boiling down to "it's a stupid series for babies" (from both fans and detractors) so it's cool to see people talking about specific decisions in earnest

Storywise the game doesn't take the easy way out and take only boring decisions, it's just that it's throwing everything at a wall with disregard to what it's actually saying.

Which is a way better problem to have and more interesting to unpack!

I think it's really interesting how a lot of the problems with pokémon sv were really obvious on the surface (bad art and performance), meanwhile with Z-A the problems aren't really apparent unless you engage with the game

Can you believe they're supposed to be adapating Yusuke Kozaki's (of Fire Emblem Awakening fame) designs?

I considered putting IV there because it was my first EO, but I never actually made it past the second stratum and I find it hard to go back to it nowadays lol

Really good, but has different nuances that I haven't spent as much time figuring out. The SNES version is the one I played as a kid and the one I managed to 1CC last year!
