not sure what's up w the vox production these past two records. I keep hearing artifacts of sloppy pitch correction or smth. obvious answer is "she's getting old" but she sure doesn't seem to have lost any of her register and intensity. & the guest vocalists on carnival seem to have the same problem

any thoughts on zato? some friends have been playing lately and I haven't really got a sense of it. the trailer made me think it might be "milk outside"-ish in tone (felt just lukewarm about that one) but I like the visual style
