You know the EDS pain is bad when you start fantasizing about medieval torture methods. I think just a lil bit of drawing and quartering would fix me

Feeling isolated lately? Check out this blog post I wrote for Rooted in Rights, highlighting just one of the many tools that I've found helpful in building covid cautious community!

3/3 If you're an able-bodied person, I am asking you, yes you, specifically to call this out when you see it online, and call it out when you hear it in person. We cannot let this go on unchecked. It seems inconsequential, but language has power, and disabled people NEED allies

2/3 Letting the use of this kind of language go unchecked is actually dangerous for disabled people. We are being actively targeted by the U.S. government as it is, and normalizing the use of dehumanizing language like this is helping do the work for them.

If I see one more "liberal" use some variation of the ableist slur "t*rds" I'm going to lose it. I have noticed such a huge uptick in the casual use of ableist language in the last couple of months and it's actually really not okay and deserves to be called out. 🧵

Please remember that disabled people intersect with every other identity on the planet. Don't forget about us in your advocacy, mutual aid, and planning.

1/ RFK Jr. wants to observe unvaccinated kids in Samoa as a “natural experiment.”

This is disturbingly similar to the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment, where researchers let people suffer and die instead of treating them.

Let’s compare. ⬇️

I do the same thing at my apartment with kn95s! People are so much more willing to wear a mask if it's comfortable. I hate how much surgical and cloth masks were pushed on us all.

If you're struggling financially due to government fuckery or for any reason really and you need infant formula talk to your pediatrician we can hook you up and don't like to ask questions.

Loyalty tests and MAGA checks: Inside the Trump White House's intense screening of job-seekers Job-seekers hoping to join the new Trump administration are facing a series of intense loyalty tests.

“Those seeking jobs have been told they will have to prove their “enthusiasm” to enact Trump’s agenda and have been asked when their moment of “MAGA revelation” occurred”

The loyalty tests currently being conducted seem more interested in finding those loyal to Trump than those best for the U.S.

This is 67 cases--a tiny fraction of TB's global burden, which exceeds 10,000,000 active cases per year.

But the longer we allow a curable illness to infect and kill millions, the more TB we'll see in the U.S. Tuberculosis is an airborne disease, and TB anywhere is a threat to humans everywhere.

Never forget for many people lockdowns NEVER ended. We’re still isolated - only now we’re shunned and mocked and told it’s a “choice”.

When you are trying to maintain a baseline and no one will make public spaces safe for you - it’s not a choice

We’ve been excluded & forgotten.

Wear a mask.

This is awful. PrEP is life changing. It prevents you from getting HIV.

Millions all over the world rely on this preventative medication to safeguard their health… and Trump is targeting them.

The cruelty is the point.

A response to the people who “would wear a mask more if the social stigma weren't so high.” Many left-leaning people I've encountered on the internet and beyond say that they understand that Covid-19 (as well as other airborne infectious diseases) can be mitigated by wearing a high-quality r...

Chronic fatigue and migraines have kept me from writing for a long time now, but it's something that I really enjoy and feel like I need to do to process the world these days. So I sat down today (with a
migraine) and wrote this:

I can't remember the last time that I woke up feeling refreshed?? Is that
something that able bodied people experience on a regular basis? My body only ever feels less tired, regular tired, super tired, or literally how am I still alive? tired

It's deeply concerning, and it's already so exhausting as it is, I hate thinking it could get much harder/worse than this 😭 I hope you're able to stay safe!

Absolutely! Misinformation and lack of awareness are HUGE driving factors of why covid has continued to be such a huge issue, and why bird flu has the potential to be absolutely devastating

Like cooking and cleaning, let alone anything extra. I often have to rely on easy premade foods (which tend to be expensive if they're healthy, or garbage if they're cheap). I also have one hand, which makes food prep and chores time-consuming and painful as I'm overworking that side of my body 24/7

And if you're like me, that list of symptoms barely even scratches the surface of what you actually experience. My most debilitating symptoms are chronic back and neck pain, chronic almost daily migraines, and chronic fatigue. My hypermobile body makes it extremely difficult to do daily basic tasks

If you're struggling to understand what chronic illness feels like: imagine having the flu. GI issues, headaches (or, in my case, migraines), full body pain & exhaustion, you feel like 🔥🗑. Now pretend you never get better. And the doctor can't help you. Now work a job & exercise & eat healthy &
