Oh, if you’re thinking like actual hardware, I use an iPad Pro. Big enough that it doesn’t feel like workflow is squished, but light and portable enough for the table. A DM I played with had a simple Chromebook for their setup.

But if your world is more rich and involved, World Anvil is really handy. It’s basically a way to create a Wikipedia for your campaign. So each NPC, city, location, event, etc. can have an article and is easily found and referenced.

If your world is lore-lite, google docs will suffice. I just use a tablet at the table and plan out any possible encounters with light description and stat blocks. I also include any relevant details about any relevant NPCs.

I don’t think I’ve worried so much for a creature until I’ve started caring for my snake. I’ve had dogs and fish and never have I been so anxious about their welfare like I have now.

Did I just do a full-ass deep dive of someone’s feed to try and see d-pics? Yes. Did I find any? No. But was that time spent scrolling still worth it? Debatable.
