GFS 06z ensembles as you can clearly see in the ensembles that the gfs 06z run is unlikely to come off from around the 15th of March lol. Clear outlier

GFS 06z has lost the plot I would think..... nice blocking across the north allowing colder conditions to filter in across the uk. Note though this is mid March so we're well out of the reliable timeframe. This isn't likely to verify but nice to look at

What is keeping people interested is that split of polar vortex. It's got everyone talking about it a lot recently, however it could be the total opposite and we bring in warmer weather

GFS 12z 👀 Still showing a period of interest from around the 8th. Not especially cold right now, but there’s scope for it to trend colder if heights build toward Scandinavia 📈❄️ A cold pool is nearby, so small shifts could make a difference. One to watch over the next few runs 🔄📊 Not a forecast.

Strong ensemble support for temps to remain well above above average into next week, however further north feeling much cooler.....

Wednesday is looking exceptional — far more like early spring than late February.

Highs of 12–15°C widely, which is around 5°C above average, under a mild south-westerly flow. If we get some sunshine, it’ll feel very pleasant indeed.

Today was such a busy day didn't get home until late afternoon. Walking back though the sunshine came through for about 20 mins or so

ECMWF 12z shifts snow further north ❄️ A band from south Wales through the Midlands (Birmingham, Stoke, Leicester) into East Anglia looks most at risk 🌨️ Heavier bursts on the northern edge, rain to the south, drier north 🌬️

GFS 18Z!!!

This is where the GFS model run wants to tease cold weather fans once again for a late winter bite. Will this happen no I don't think it'll happen at all. We've seen this number of times where cold weather is showing and then gets watered down when we get closer to the timeframe

GFS 12z really ramping up those temperatures towards late February... decent support as well within the ensembles that temperatures are going well above average for the time of the year. Many will be wearing shorts and t shirt if this was to come off

People forget that just because spring is around the corner it doesn't promise spring like weather. You have to bare that in mind when you look at it as a whole it can bring winter weather

GFS 06z was quite an interesting run from the 21st onwards we ended up seeing Atlantic ridging which was allowing cold northerly winds to filter down into the uk and pushing southwards, then we then switched the northerlies to easterlies as heights went into Scandinavia. 384 hours out 😴😅

GFS 12Z teasing cold weather fans once again including myself with strong northern blocking across Greenland... this will open the flood gates to late winter cold.. though I ain't getting excited we are talking 300+ hours out lol

Some GEFS ensemble members are showing spring knocking on the door very early on a taste for things to come maybe

Colder interlude but blink and you will certainly miss it Owen lol / beyond that plenty of scatter showing but does look as though slight recovery back towards average temps again into the following week. Precipitation spikes are looking concerning as well more flooding is possible.

@ogriff79.bsky.social what's you're thoughts mate. I think we both know that this isn't gonna happen as we've seen that this winter has been such a let down when we've seen colder runs in the extended range and then they end up backing away lol

GFS 12z RUN!!

Ok GFS 12z keeping cold lovers in the game still but like I've kept on saying that the cold keeps getting pushed further back... we can't be fully 100% on this. We've seen so many good runs to end up failing and backing away as soon as we get to the reliable timeframe

A few cold spells 🥶 but no real snow here. Frosts felt limited too. Aberdeenshire won winter ❄️⛄. For most of the UK? Very underwhelming.

Same old story for much of this winter the Atlantic having an influence which has killed most of the cold this winter. Background signals have looked really good this winter and yet the Atlantic has been having the edge, signs of climate change perhaps??

Blink and you miss the colder weather towards the weekend - a quick drop in temps before the recover very quickly there after. Disappointing for cold weather fans that's for sure. Winter as whole has been very disappointing to be honest

I think in spring I will need to take many more photos and putting this iPhone more into action with plenty of walks to come.... #SpringIsComing
