I used to hate video too, but now that so much text is AI, I would much rather see someone speak than read AI slop.
But we know that we could clean the air in classrooms and care homes and we don't do it, so both the vast majority and the sorry minority get sick several times a year to varying levels of consequence. Not everyone is young and healthy or wants to be sick 2 weeks a year.
I guess it's how we define reasonable. I had long term issues from a viral infection so wearing a mask on a plane or in the doctor's office seems entirely reasonable to me. The bonus is I haven't been sick in years. That allows me to live a normal life very well indeed.
But we did learn how to reduce infection and transmission and we choose not to do those things. Everybody still gets sick after they fly because they refuse to mask on a plane. There is still poor air quality in hospital waiting rooms. Population level risk is no consolation if you are sick.
People should just pick rich parents
