Ah my dad was 10 yrs older than Mom he really didn't get involved but very telling she wouldn't send any of us to nuns for secondary school and my secondary school experience was brilliant. They were clueless.
Ah same I was 2nd youngest of 10 my parents were old school didn't knwo how to deal with it.
I remember pulling my boss into a room one time telling him the 'lead' in our group wasn't a leader just a bully and the response I got was that 'its so good you have the emotional intelligence to deal with that a credit to you'. No further action ensued.

She was classed as the best academic teacher in the school and we had the misfortune of her company for 4 young years.
I was up the top too didn't escape the ridicule and slaps as I was always 'very talkative' in my reports 🤬
I went to see her with a free ticket of same opinion but tbf to her the stand up was good.
Highlight of my primary school years.
Our primary teacher from 2nd to 6th class slapped the shot out of us with hands and rulers. She would go to slap your leg amd every time you moved it she'd add another. She pushed a girl one day into a table the girl got a black eye. Her ma walked into the classroom next day and decked her 🤣🙌
