As a comic author myself it can be very tempting to want to confirm or deny facts about my characters, especially when I see people make assumptions that would be way out of character, but I feel like that's on me to effectively communicate that in the text itself.

These days I've gone out of my way to avoid trailers and new coverage of movies I might be interested in, and honestly it's made the viewing experience way more enjoyable. Even the shlocky Marvel shit.

"Direct of 'Vampire King' confirms that there will be 'get very dark scenes'" Like I dunno man, I know the point is to get asses in seats, but I feel like more people would have a unique opinion on media if they were told ahead of time how to feel about it.

Might just be me, but I think showrunners and directors confirming things about their show/movie before it comes out spoils the experience and plants seeds in people's heads that make them pre-emptively love or hate it. I truly believe it's contributing to the media literacy crisis
