I've been able to accept getting rid of most and ripping others to my plex library but that community DVD in particular has so many memories attached to it and particularly to those commentaries. They're such a fascinating glimpse into the dynamics of making that show
These commentaries have been the biggest argument against getting rid of my DVD of that first season
it's not just that Mamdani is charming af (he is), it's that he is normalizing the idea that children are full members of society that we all share a collective responsibility for
Hang on, I had missed the fact that the AI Skills Hub cost £4m. mahadk.com/posts/ai-ski... If this wasn't tax payers' money it would be quite funny. Also, can only assume PWC spent some time rolling around in gold because they did NOT spend it on building this
“The old order is not coming back. We should not mourn it. Nostalgia is not a strategy.”
As a piece of prose and geopolitical analysis Carney’s Davos speech feels history-making. paulwells.substack.com/p/the-carney...
This is quite a post

My wife is convinced they're a couple now because in last night's episode James had coloured stripes on his t-shirt that matched Jessie's nails and eyeshadow
As always, 2 things can be true at once:
1. Any police force using AI to generate reports & evidence for their decisions should be disciplined & heads should roll
2. The ban on Maccabi Tel Aviv fans was likely justified due to real risk of racist, violent hooliganism #r4today
If you'd like to watch the hour long special programme on maternity care - it's on YouTube. It's an emotional watch - but it's important

I am extremely confused as to why the UK government and police are saying Grok’s mass-scale CSAM generation is an issue for Ofcom.
This isn’t about X failing to moderate CSAM, which is an Online Safety Act issue. It is about the company and its technology being actively involved in its generation.

Colombian President Petro commenting on the US;
“A clan of pedophiles wants to destroy our democracy. To keep Epstein's list from coming out, they send warships to kill fishermen & threaten our neighbor with invasion for their oil."
This is true and I was the only one on set excited about it (and playing the song on my phone to blank stares)
My best guess? Someone saw it's a headline that worked once and so it now gets done for everything. And when the article fails, it's not because the headline was a bad idea and fit - instead it's evidence the show isn't that popular and should get less coverage
"For a copy to be more widely distributed than the original is a very bad symptom" 😂
I mean, the lack of self-awareness is almost impressive
You do your own doodle and everything you put there is an active choice.
AI generates it for you and it's adding a load of extra detail that wasn't in your own head. That's not your idea anymore, it's stolen from somewhere else.
This aspect of LLMs is worse than just cringy - it confirms biases leading to bad analysis. It's one of the things that makes me wary of using it for research.
Are these the same companies that told us the robot could do it?
UEFA fines Maccabi and bans them from a game
Just waiting for Keir Starmer to say it's antisemitic
For Shamaba Mahmood to join him
And for Lisa Nandy to lie about it in parliament
Shame on all three of them for conflating public safety with antisemitism
Cautiously going to say it's a good thing to no longer be bound by broadcast schedules. Speeches can lost as long as they need to and we can stop acting like the entire show is an inconvenience that needs to be rushed through.
I do not want your AI slop
I do not want it in my mop
I do not want it in my house
I do not want it in my mouse
I do not like brain-rotting AI spam
I do not want it, Sam Alt-man
Logan Lucky!
Well this has brought a flood of childhood memories back 😂
Anyone else finding that the phone number for the Taskmaster advent calendar today isn't working?
Definitely calling the right number and while other people got a lovely message from @alexhorne.bsky.social, he's obviously blocked my number because it just rings and cuts out
Had a great conversation with @rianjohnson.bsky.social about how his religious upbringing influenced Wake Up Dead Man, Daniel Craig recommending Josh O'Connor, Glen Close's already underrated performance, and much more

When Tommy Robinson celebrates Labour policy, the party deserves to die
Top executives cannot shut up about AI.
… but is it helping?
Well, it's a little clearer now why billionaires are so invested in technology that produces better written emails.
