Ah. It's possible I misread there. That's a least a little better. Still feels bad if people travel to an event that doesn't fire because they couldn't get 8. But at least the store isn't punished for it.

I'm a little worried for game stores too. The documentation says if your PQ doesn't fire, you don't get another one next season. So late season LL PQs are really risky for small stores now if a few of their diehard LL players might not be able to attend if they win something earlier in the season.

That's how it worked under the old system (aside from the LL points). If you won a PQ and already had an invite, your invite passed to second place.

I won't say the pass down system was perfect. But this just creates so many more feels bad situations than the pass down system ever did.

This is exactly how it's always worked until now. It wasn't a perfect system, but it worked.

I recall the invite at my first PQ after London being passed down since I'd already qualified for Singapore(could be wrong, but was told this). If I were to top 32 the previous tier 4 event and qualify that way, am I still allowed to play a PQ? What about top 75 elo? Does an invite get burned there?

Not a pro player and what if I get in the finals of my first locals? Do I take the gold foil or play more fab at my other events?

I mean I'm taking the foil if I can but

I'm the driver, is why.

Even if someone else wins in the car, it just means my drive is lonelier when I start the three hour drive to the next PQ.

Hmm my 2 hr radius usually has 4-6 pro quests in a season with 24-64 turnout. I don't think this ultimately impacts our ability to maintain eligibility but I have concern for other stores with smaller communities.

Yeah. that probably makes the most sense. Feelsbad, but makes sense.

I doubt we'll *actually* see it happen. Even a bad gold foil is still a big enough prize that it's probably not worth giving up to keep playing. But it does feel really bad as a punishment for winning.

Especially with this Pro Tour being so far away in Japan, I'm a little worried we'll end up seeing arguments of people over who gets to concede because neither want the invite and both want to keep playing the rest of the season.

I understand the intent of this policy. But I really hope @fabtcg.com reconsiders.

So much of our local community is built on the camaraderie of all piling into a car together every weekend to drive several hours to all go play in tournaments together and this policy will significantly hurt that.
