This Friday, Long Island organizations are gathering in Mineola to demand the abolition of ICE, justice for Alex Pretti, Renee Good, and Keith Porter, the release of all people in ICE custody, and the report on Santos Banegas Reyes’ death.

Tom Suozzi and Laura Gillen have once again proven themselves to be cowards and sellouts. No matter what excuses they trot out for continuing to back ICE, don’t fall for it.
They’re a disgrace to Nassau County and a disgrace to Long Island. We deserve far better.
Dozens of Long Island DSA’s Mutual Aid Working Group members met on Saturday to prepare care kits for our unhoused neighbors.
These kits included cold-weather gear, essential supplies, food, and whistle kits to help protect our communities from ICE.
After six months of Starbucks refusing to bargain in good faith, SBWU baristas have launched an open-ended strike.

This is solidarity, not charity.
This is an ongoing responsibility for every one of us to continue to make sure our communities that we live in and share with each other are safe and thriving.
Thank you and Happy Holidays.🎄
Under the forced scarcity of capitalism, families are forced to make difficult decisions over paying for groceries or paying for rent or paying for other necessities. Food is a right. And no child should be in want at the holidays.
THANK YOU ALL for your generosity in helping kids across Long Island experience some holiday joy!
This holiday season, with the help of our members, our friends at Tiny Raccoon Books , and our supporters on Long Island and beyond, we were able to share WELL over 300+ toys with children at Community Solidarity in the Hempstead, Huntington, and Farmingville foodshare locations!
Bruce Blakeman’s run for governor exposes his true priorities: political ambition over the well-being of working-class Long Islanders.
From his collaboration with ICE to targeting vulnerable communities, he’s more interested in elevating himself than serving the people.
On this day in 1969, Fred Hampton was assassinated by Chicago police during a raid on his apartment. Drugged by an FBI informant, he was shot and killed while asleep.
Despite his murder, his vision and work continue to show us what true liberation can be.
Surveillance won’t make us safer. Investing in housing, healthcare, and community care will.
Bruce Blakeman’s fear-mongering won’t distract us from fighting for what Long Islanders truly need and deserve.
🕯️ In less than 48 hours, join us for a Transgender Day of Remembrance Candlelight Vigil as we honor the lives lost to anti-trans violence and reaffirm our commitment to fight for the living.

Thank you, Kevin Shea, for running a campaign that embodied courage, compassion, and conviction.
Though the results weren’t what we hoped for, your dedication to Riverhead’s working people and your vision for a fairer, more sustainable future inspired our entire chapter.
