Started our Edinburgh Christmas tide with the blessing of the crib & an ecumenical service at the Assembly Hall. The crib is passed by 100s of folks walking up The Mound each day. Our Lord Provost Robert was there & we all had a lovely gathering with the Salvation Army Band playing. Excellent event!
I’m so sorry to hear that Paul Costelloe has died. We knew his family well and had terrific times when our children were at school together. RIP Paul.

I recently appeared on Nicola Meighan’s podcast and got myself into hot water about the standard of music in Sandy Bell’s pub in Edinburgh. I could have said that about all sorts of places, but of course, they don’t play for locals. It’s for visitors I guess, so I was perhaps harsh.
I’m not doing any prep for Christmas this year, including decorations as I’m away for 10 days, and not back till the28th. Travelling to Liverpool, Manchester, Cardiff and finally Bristol. I’ve got bags packed but that’s all! x
I hadn't realised that this was shown yesterday but a nice plug for my 'Winter' album (!) and I've also done a new song and interview for the show which goes out early next year x

Been going to the gym 3 times a week for strengthening exercises and some cardio work, but I’m still unable to do 100% of the movement I had before… I’ve been advised not to run since my rotator cuff operation a year ago. I’m still working on that! x
Speaking of pals, my dear friend Billy Connolly was enjoying a very happy birthday when I sang to him the other day…. He’s on good form and enjoying life! x
