Surprise and Discovery are the most important aspects of game design for me, so if a game continues to provide them hour after hour, that’s a well made game imo!

Animal Well is really good so far!! Just getting around to playing it! I really enjoy games that go all-in with exploring the possibility space of their mechanics, it feels like the designer left no stone unturned.

I find the combat a bit muddy, and the standard jump game feel is oddly abysmally bad, but the rest of the systems are quite nice!

I’m actually a bit upset the grind was so easy, I hit 50 mining while gathering clay and was a bit sad it was maxed out already..! But perhaps I’m used to the MMO grind

It’s important to be able to say no and have hard boundaries. Even if they don’t accept them.

I also like to delegate responsibility and frame things around what they need to do, since it is *their* problem. As someone who has also needed financial help this is a reasonable expectation.

I can think of a few people that are worth way less than that…
