I agree (if I take Yussef's point correctly) plumbing the depths of a work w/ outwardly objectionable content often yields interesting/unexpected lines of critique—and sometimes positive. But I also don't think I've played a jingoistic military shooter where those ultimately sublimated the jingoism.
