A woman in a light purple wig sits in passenger seat of zamboni, holding a banner which states "no ICE, no more, no kings, no fear" in same font and colors as Minnesota Frost team iconography.

Absolute Queen behavior from the Zamboni Rider today at the Minnesota Frost game.
No ICE
No War
No Kings

No Fear.

Don't forget misogyny. In addition to the racism and antisemitism, a lot of leftist dudes I know think they've done enough for the cause by being leftists and thus don't feel the need to hide their disdain for women. I consider myself a leftist. It's not a fucking get out of jail free card.

Attacks on Jewish diaspora communities are morally inexcusable. They’re also bound to occur when communal representatives proclaim our collective allegiance to a pariah state pursuing some of the greatest atrocities of a still-young century

There are THIRTY MILLION Christian Zionists in the US ALONE - that’s twice as many as there are Jews in the ENTIRE WORLD. But nobody’s drawing swastikas on their churches or rampaging through them or attacking Christian Zionists on the street. But yeah ok American Jews deserve this.

Image 2 - Mayor Mamdani sitting on a prayer rug while hosting an Iftar at city hall

Quote tweet from Senator Tuberville - “the enemy is inside the gates.”

Let there be as much outrage from politicians in Washington when kids go hungry as there is when I break bread with New Yorkers.

"West, 54, was a 28-year-old police officer ... when he was arrested and charged with the statutory rape of three girls, two aged 14 and one aged 16. West agreed to plead guilty to 16 lesser charges of taking indecent liberties with a child"

"Administration officials have said the fee is justified given Trump’s role in saving TikTok in the U.S. and navigating negotiations with China to get the deal done while addressing the security concerns of lawmakers.

Trump arranged the deal to comply with a law forcing TikTok U.S. to reduce ByteDance’s ownership stake or cease operations. Many lawmakers worried about security risks associated with a Chinese company controlling an app with so much personal data on Americans, triggering a saga that goes back to Trump’s first term.

The TikTok fee extracted from private-sector investors is the administration’s latest transaction involving the nation’s largest businesses. Trump took a nearly 10% stake in semiconductor company Intel and has agreed to take a chunk of chip sales to China from Nvidia in exchange for granting export licenses. The administration has also taken equity stakes in other companies and has a say in the operations of U.S. Steel following a “golden share” agreement with Japan’s Nippon Steel in its takeover."

like maybe you'd want to explain, you know, ANYWHERE in the article, that this is not fucking normal and that the "national security" and "privacy" improvements weren't real?

Maybe quote an objective expert or academic?

this is just open and abject corruption, but the way U.S. journalism frames it you'd not really understand that there's anything untoward

"it will help them not need social supports and social programs"

This is Republican-style anti-government services bullshit language.

EVERYONE needs social supports and social programs in this country BECAUSE CORPORATIONS IMPOSE MASSIVE SOCIAL COSTS THAT INDIVIDUALS CANNOT PAY FOR VIA TAX CUTS.

• If there's one thing controversial CBS News editor Bari Weiss has earned praise for it's her hands-on booking of big names for the network. But there's one booking she seems to have blown up: New York mayor Zohran Mamdani, who had been in talks to appear for an interview on CBS News Sunday Morning with Robert Costa.
Mamdani's team, I'm told, has long been averse to appearing on CBS given the coverage his campaign got from Weiss's The Free Press, but her recent social media post reacting with a fire emoji to an Iranian activist's diatribe against Mamdani was the "nail in the coffin" for him appearing on the network, two sources with knowledge told me. "Bari and her people have a clear axe to grind for him," said one former CBS producer. (CBS News did not respond to a request for comment.) And the network's turn away from news and toward opinion is proving to be a broader problem. "It's not just Zohran," the source said. "It's really

lol. CBS had been trying to get Zohran Mamdani for an interview, but Bari Weiss' deranged tweeting caused him to turn it down

The emerging cases of AI psychosis have shown that all it takes to drive some people completely insane is to put them in contact with a sycophantic chatbot who always agrees with them.

Now, what does that tell us about billionaire CEOs surrounded by sycophantic people who always agree with them?

Up through the 1930s, State Fairs across America featured head on collisions between trains. The first occurred at the Iowa State Fair in 1896 before a crowd of 20,000. This video is from the Minnesota State Fair during the Great Depression, as featured in the poster below:

Screencapture images of CBC and NYT using a file photo of a body of water that vaguely resembles the left-to-right shape of the Strait of Hormuz, but which is visibly not nearly to scale. This is clearly a river or estuary system (complete with visible floodplains) and not the Strait. It is missing several cities that would be clearly visible at this scale. The photo was also taken from high altitude but clearly not from outer space, making the angle of capture impossible to fit Hormuz into the same frame.

So, I've seen this image come up twice now in news coverage of the Strait of Hormuz.

First it was The New York Times' "The Daily" podcast.

Next, CBC News' generally excellent "About That" webseries.

Folks, this is not the Strait of Hormuz.

I think one thing to consider here is that Nazis frequently lie about their beliefs, and it is part of NYT ideology to never question whether someone is being honest about their self-reported political beliefs
