Balle is uninterested in the reasons behind why this is happening to Tara Selter, instead focusing on her feelings about being stuck in time. The delicate balance between science fiction and literary fiction makes this book an incredibly engaging read.

Christine Laiβs prose is precise and poetic, rendering a convincing landscape of the world in constant climate catastrophe. The book is a reckoning of what art means, and the value it holds in the face of devastation, a warning for us, the readers, of what may become reality. (3/3)
