This study was spearheaded by Adeline Morez Jacobs, first as a PhD-student at LJMU with Linus Girdland-Flink (@flinklinus.bsky.social‬, @uoa-archaeology.bsky.social) and Joel Irish (@ljmuofficial.bsky.social), and later as a postdoc with me at the @crick.ac.uk.

This opens up the possibility for building an ancient genomic record of ancient Egypt, to put alongside the amazing archaeological and historical record. We hope this advance will be beneficial for initiatives inside Egypt as well.
