The neoliberal project inside the Dem Party cannot be reasoned with, negotiated with, or bargained with. There's too much money at stake & there will always be grifter-warriors for its side. It will have to be politically defeated by populists, because it will never voluntarily relinquish power.

My general view is that unlike in a lot of other lines of work, most folks working in politics & media believe in nothing beyond accumulating more status, wealth & power - and this hyper avarice explains everything happening right now.

I don't think my view is overly cynical. I think it's reality.
