Why are my feeds across social media platforms fluded with posts about some random guy killed at political rally in US? Never heard of him, but I am hearing of thousands of deaths caused by politicians in Gaza, Ukraine, Sudan and many other places.

If aliens land tomorrow and ask you to take them to your leaders, please, please don't.

I am less concerned about global governance and international law in a multipolar world than about national rule and decisions by inadequately medicated bipolar leaders.

13 years of war & decades of oppression will require much more than vengeance and criminal justice. Full spectrum of broad transitional justice measures will be required for sustainable peace and healing of victims and society in #Syria. Hope powers that be or will be take this into consideration.

Looking forward to read the report in detail. Meanwhile, just want to draw attention to the plight of the families of the children who are still missing. Based on experience from Iraq, Sri Lanka etc, they are among most vulnerable categories of victims and are in need for urgent remedies and support

If global north doesn't accept responsibilities for its industrialization & development & its consequences for the climate change, as well a other legacies of the past, it is hard to see how would countries from the global south continue to support the much cherished international order & norms.

The background is dark blue.

Agonistic spaces and relational autonomy! This paper excites me as philosopher by education and frustrates me as reparations/TJ practitioner by vocation. How on earth, we are supposed to bring such nuances into institutionalistic and hyper legalistic models practiced by states & int organizations?

Should Ukraine Have Nuclear Weapons? | by Slavoj Žižek - Project Syndicate Slavoj Žižek dismisses the idea that firing Western missiles at Russian targets represents a dangerous escalation.

Is this Slavoj, Zizek or somebody else now? I see only one or two radical sentences, no movie references and no obscure language. What is happening?! www.project-syndicate.org/commentary/u...

It is difficult to reverse 1000 days of trauma, injuries and lost family members, limbs, friends, livelihoods, homes, childhood, education, but living among Ukrainians for almost two years, I learned that, with right and timely support, they are capable of moving onward and upward.

A working list of researchers, practitioners, and organizations working on transitional justice, please let me know if I missed you or anyone else who should be added! bsky.app/starter-pack... Some overlap with but narrower focus than my other list on humanitarian aid, peacebuilding & development.

The image shows the title, authors, and start of the abstract of the article, The Dangerous Rise of Dual Use Objects in War, which is forthcoming at the Yale Law Journal and available in full at the link in the post.

Last night, Russia launched a major attack on Ukraine's power grid. The grid is sometimes called a "dual use object," because it has both civilian and military uses. If you want to read more about dual use objects, check out this forthcoming article.
