Never done if the posterior side is intact and ankle is stable , not very common patient but the ones I have seen have healed well with walker boot/cast. There are few papers claiming that RTP is faster with tightrope

I would go bit more anterior than classical PM approach and tackle to medial and posterior side from single incision and straight lateral. And if the posterolateral piece does not follow the PM fracture I arch my back and cry on the floor.

I love doing ankles prone. Especially medial side at first you’ll sprain your brain but once you get over that it will get better
