I hate how easily I fall for "learn this quick" courses. I am so much happier learning on the slow track.

Learning to program pushes me to grow, connects me with people who build each other up, and lets me create things that make life better for others.

03.12.2025 20:47 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I have slowed down my learning and I am much happier and healthier for it.
02.12.2025 20:54 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Started today full of hope for my goals. Then I was told I needed to travel to a site visit for multiple days with less than 24 hour notice interfering with another project deadline at the end of the week. Adding this to reasons why I WILL change jobs next year.
01.12.2025 19:20 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0As I reflect on 2025, I could easily frame it as a failure from the goals I set initially. However, I feel confident in the new directions I am heading in and the communities that are helping me get there. Excited to see what comes next.
01.12.2025 15:32 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I've seen a few 100Devs videos, and I've definitely reached the "Trough of Sorrow." My motivation has been replaced by the system that has brought me this far. I am grateful for progress even when I am not thrilled to practice.
14.11.2025 14:48 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I have been fortunate to be able to learn in my down time at work. Now that the job is picking up again, I'm back to the early bird grind. Had a successful 5 am session focusing on strengthening CSS.
Hard to admit this: I miss JavaScript.
I am celebrating small wins. I completed the SoloLearn Introduction To JavaScript course. I use the platform to substitute doom scrolling while practicing spaced repetition. On to the next goal!
03.11.2025 14:55 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I've been doing my best to keep track of all the great advice I've been receiving lately, but I'm afraid that I won't be able to keep track of it all or revisit when I need those ideas.
How do you keep track of all the advice you receive or lessons you've learned?
Some part of me is healing. I did not have a stellar day productivity-wise. However, I am not beating myself up with shame like I normally do. I just promised that it would not happen 2 days in a row.
29.10.2025 01:12 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I knew nothing about JavaScript a week ago.
Today, I created a random password generator without any help from AI.
Today is an awesome day.
I'm still in disbelieve that I started learning JavaScript 6 days ago and I'm already writing small apps. Shoutout to @scrimba.bsky.social. They're the real deal.
22.10.2025 14:35 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The amount of code that breaks due to a missing closing bracket is too damn high! I will learn some day...
21.10.2025 21:50 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I really enjoy Python, but certain things were really difficult. I made something in an hour with basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript that would have taken multiple imported libraries and hours of coding in Python. Use the right tool for the job I guess.

15.10.2025 11:39 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I forget that I have this, too. My badโฆ
Out of town with the family this weekend, but I was still able to sneak into a corner of the hotel room while they slept for some practice. Finished my โSpace Explorationโ page on Scrimba and the Survey Form on freeCodeCamp.
I had a weird win this morning. I overslept and didnโt have my usual 2 hours to study before work. By the time I was up, I had 30 minutes. Normally, I would have just skipped it and โtry again tomorrowโ. Today, I studied for 30 minutes. No more โall or nothingโ mindset.
08.10.2025 12:45 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Followed Quincyโs advice. Played with Scrimba for my morning study session. Continued with freeCodeCamp during downtime at work. I think they help each other nicely.
Finished all the HTML today. Tomorrow is the start of my CSS journey.
I donโt know if it was their intention, but the new freeCodeCamp video makes me want to try Scrimba.
05.10.2025 03:41 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The struggle with going back to fundamentals is being intentional with them. I want to speed through because I think I know the basics already, defeating the purpose of returning to them in the first place. Itโs an exercise in patience and intentionality that has been humbling.
