I bring yet another update for the #daggerheart character building assistant spreadsheet. Now with all content from the Void.

I've been off Bsky for a while, busy finishing a novel and creating this lovely #Daggerheart character building resource.
Feedback welcome.

Hi, BSky. I made a #TTRPG system called MacGuffin. It's for when you and your friends only have two hours and a loose idea of what you want to do and don't want to spend the whole thing learning the system and then never meet as a group again because of schedule conflicts.
I'm eligible for two crit awards nominations and nominations are open.
I've made a much larger post about it on my blog. Link below.

I've written a #5e #dnd #homebrew fighter subclass called the bannerman. It's a support archetype centered around an aura buff created by raising your colors high.
New #5ed&d homebrew
The Born of Fate Sorcerer manipulates the outcomes by guessing some things and then completely changing others.
Features include fated spells, foretold outcomes, taking advantage of uncertainty, and totally changing who has the upper hand.

Virtually all of my 5e d&d titles are discounted for GMs day on #dmsguild!
This link should show most all of them www.dmsguild.com/browse.php?a...
I suggest grabbing Grimdark & Dangerous while you can. It doesn't go on sale often and you can save 4 bucks. Not bad for a book that big.
I would like to share my book, Grimdark & Dangerous, with the Bluesky folk. It is a 5e rules and features compendium for gruesome game play. It features, blood magic, body horror, savagery, occult themes, and so much more. It is also a Copper Best Seller!

Been very busy. Still very busy. Re;Alignment development is still going on in the background.
Finally writing out the minutia on using off-stack actions.
Also working on an alpha game doc. That will be my next big project.
Makes me want to run a game following the latter half of the trilogy. Like, what if some elementals figured out how to summon humans? Or what if doing a summon to bind an entity to an object went really wrong.

First look at action cards for Re:Alignment.
Writing well
step 1) spend all day making Armenian sweet bread and homemade sour pickles.
Step 2) remember you were going to try to write today
Step 3) repeat.
The greatest shame of writing anything is that it makes it significantly harder to write anything else at the same time. I can have multiple WIPs going at the same time, but once I have more than here going I'm going to forget two of them eventually.
I think that, while Re:Alignment is ideally played with physical action cards, I will be making a slightly more accessible on short term alternative action system. Less a system and more clear directions on how to run the game without physical cards.
It's intended to be handwriting friendly as a printed sheet, hence the large space.
But yeah, a planescape-like setting would work really well. It is intended to work, with only minor adjustments, for basically any setting though.
It is and it isn't. Equipment isn't central and a variety of different types of equipment could be used to solve the same problem. Actions make up the bulk of choice making to form a well balanced party.
This is my current big TTRPG project.
The longer form text about it I put on my Tumblr blog (because it works well for long form posting). Keeping track of shorter form updates here on bsky.
This post is probably most comprehensive dev blog currently www.tumblr.com/dungeonmalco...
I feel like most systems either use a dice pool, percentile, or run on d6s is what I was trying to get at. Seems like only the big box games run a d20 system with variable DCs.
Current goals for Re:Alignment RPG:
-Alignment System:✔️
-Character sheet:✔️
-Obstacle systems:
-Combat:✔️
-Social: ✔️
-Technical: ✔️
-Action Cards:❌
-... The rest:❌

Absolutely. Cards can be incredibly useful. Clunkiness does not negate usefulness. I'm also a big fan of analogue. Digital is typically a one page at a time limit, analogue let's you see lots of things at the same time. That's the benefit of the clunkiness. Two sides the same coin.
Having cards to use with a TTRPG can be clunky. Even spell cards and the like for 5e DND.
This is due to having an additional physical media.
If two players could end up using the same card, multiple copies of all cards should probably be printed. This means additional setup and organization.
It's very interesting to me that most entry level TTRPG players, and even many seasoned ones, prefer to roll dice for things in a 5e sort of system but there arent really many systems that roll dice like that. There are big ones, to be sure. But most don't.
Playing CoS for first time. Get to Vallaki. Mayor is sus, guard captain is sus. Capt. looks like he's fiend touched and we immediately jump the gun.
Two sessions later, party's sun soul monk incinerates Strazni in two rounds. Our faces when we realize we jumped the gun but the monk dont care 0.0
What's the best way to roll dice in a TTRPG?
Answer the poll to see what other nerd thinks.

Look, this is getting into interrogation territory. And I have no obligation to endure that with this character limit (or at all really) If you want an actual discussion, I run a tumblr blog where I covered all this over a year ago.
Look. I hate Hasbro as much as any other RPG writer.
But OBS pays for licensing to operate DMsGuild. If you assume only the DMsGuild titles contribute to this pay to Hasbro, you're dreaming. There's no high horsing when it comes to writing 5e. Either you're legal and they benefit, or you risk.
Correction, the majority of my 5e DND work can be found using the following link on DMsGuild.
www.dmsguild.com/browse.php?a...
Please note, my works can be found in other places as well, I'll get those individual links up soon.
I'm sure you already know the ins and outs of all the licensing issues since you've taken the time to suggest I jump ship. But most of my work depends on the exclusive licensing agreement on DMsGuild. And note, purchase of my works there does not directly contribute to Hasbro.
Thanks for the heads up

-well, anyway, I need to go pee in a cup.
-be right back, I hear screaming...
-what's that over there?! *Runs away*
-it was nice talking to you, but it's almost dawn so I'm going to discorporate soon...
