Interesting take. I could have sworn it was one person in particular who ignited the redistricting war. Rather than the elections doing it themselves

👊Done it for years and not just national elections. They need workers for school boards and local elections too. It’s mostly retired folks so we need younger generations to do their part too. Think of it as jury duty but better pay (at least in DE) believe it or not.

Unpopular opinion, so much of the news coverage of primary elections feels so unnecessary. It's hard for me to believe many voters care at all about political fighting. Can't help but think what they actually want to know is what exactly candidates will do to help fix all the problems

It seems it would be worth asking him if he had a say in how this beautiful green monstrosity TX-10 [cracking Austin (on the left side) + running across huge rural areas all the way to north of Houston] was redrawn

But Gober came up during mapmaker Adam Kincaid's testimony in federal court in October - mainly as a reason why Kincaid didn't have to answer questions about how they drew the map. You can read the (searchable) transcript yourself

It's been interesting to see Chris Gober run for newly redrawn TX congressional district 10 with no one mentioning that he's (maybe still?) working for the RNC, was in charge of last year's TX redistricting

I think the San Antonio city council should launch a massive public works project that closes the street at this facility's entrance, with an estimated end-construction date of 2029. Pull up the street to fix leaky pipes, bury power lines, whatever. But slow this sucker down.
