This prestigious program has empowered nearly 2,000 grad students and young professionals to make a difference for marine and Great Lakes science, policy, and management by spending a year working in federal offices. (1/2)

Purpose: Support trash removal from streams, rivers, and creeks. Stream Monitoring Grants. For: Local units of government, nonprofits, and tribes. Amount: Startup: up to $5000 (1 year). Implementation: up to $20,000 (2-years). Maintenance: up to $3000. Purpose: volunteer macroinvertebrate monitoring and habitat assessment in wadeable streams.
Volunteer-led stream work has a big impact, and MiCorps stream cleanup and monitoring grants are now open for 2026.
If your organization is building or expanding a program, these grants can help cover staff time, training, and equipment costs.
