My family: weβll see about that.
Besides being mostly soulless and empty, I think one of the worst things about the reboot/sequel culture is how it stops the younger generation from having their own stuff. I think thatβs why Minecraft was so huge. It wasnβt a worn out boomer, gen x property. It was theirs.
06.06.2025 23:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0If you have access to @netgalley.bsky.social , you should definitely read @dwgillespie.bsky.social Delacorte Press GRIN. It's everything my students want in a horror book. Arcade game haunted by the spirit of a serial killer that possesses those who play it? Perfect.

02.06.2025 12:55 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Occasionally, I take a step back and just marvel at how companies are pissing away their good will chasing AI. Google used to be the gold standard for how to find an answer. Now, the top result is almost certainly going to be wrong.

Some early buzz for GRIN. I canβt wait for this one to get out in the world!
17.03.2025 16:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Ollie the pug looking like heβs giving out side quests.
03.03.2025 18:32 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I love being a writer, but thereβs this maddening split between what you can and canβt control. All of the work is self-driven, but all results exist in this nebulous cloud of βmaybeβ.
Will the contract go through?
Will the book sell?
Will the film rights happen?
Maybe.
Iβve never felt so alive in my entire life. This is what success feels like.
25.02.2025 22:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I always love stumbling across old notes Iβve left for myself in manuscripts. Occasionally, youβll discover something profound, and other times you get stuff like this:
βInsert something scaryβ
Absolutely bonkers and very fun!
22.02.2025 21:13 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The first big horror movie of the year is THE MONKEY! I enjoyed it, but you need to understand going in that this is more comedy than horror. I laughed out loud a few times, and though it slips a bit on the last third, itβs worth the price of admission for seeing some hilariously over the top kills.
22.02.2025 04:12 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0SNL can be hit and miss, but when it hits, thereβs nothing else like it. I started watching with my dad in 1989. It was one of the first good memories i have after my parents split up. I started watching with my kids in probably 2015 or so. Iβm sure Iβll be watching when Iβm a grandpa.

HERE IT IS! BROKEN DOLLS COMING SEPTEMBER 2025
That quote had me in literal tears. Share and you're in the drawing for copies of all three books.
Cover of What Fell From the Sky with an SLJ review reading βHistorical realism blends with thrilling sci-fi to deliver a story that is as entertaining as it is thought-provoking.β
Itβs here! Iβm excited for everyone to read Pineda and Luisaβs adventure.
When I wrote WFFTS, I never imagined its message of embracing identity and finding community in the face of oppression would be so relevant. I hope this story will give comfort as much as it entertains. bit.ly/3VDmutK #kidlit
