I thought squirrels were adorable until they took ONE bite from each long-awaited ripe apple on my tree rather than having the consideration to just take the ones they liked and leave me the rest. 😱

Flory Jagoda was a famous Sephardic singer-songwriter-musician, and she wrote the classic "Ocho Kandelikas" in Ladino, the Spanish-based language of my grandmother. My friend Sarah Aroeste's version is gorgeous.

One way to cure Ableism is with regular doses of accurate information, taken with an open mind, an attitude of exploration and willingness to learn, and a commitment to looking past one's own needs and automatic prejudices to take on the perspective of others and adjust expectations without judging.
With one holiday behind us & more to go in the next months, it's time for a reminder:
*If a chronically ill loved one bails on holiday plans at the last minute, it means they hoped until the last minute that the could come. Please: no shame or blame.
*Unlike chronic illness, Ableism can be cured.

Thanks for this! Project 2025 is also a blueprint for totalitarianism. They claim to outlaw porn for kids' sake; but it's a grab for control over media. P '25 states they'll SHUT DOWN any media that "facilitate" the spread of whatever they define as porn. Imagine the power this will give them.
