Every advanced economy, even the supposedly laissez-faire ones like Singapore, operates within tight frameworks. Deregulation based on that flawed premise was bound to hit a wall.

Yes, that’s a really interesting point — looking at blocs gives a clearer sense of where the electorate actually sits ideologically. Despite all the noise, the centre-left still represents the majority of public opinion in the UK right now.

Notable in today's YouGov that the centre/left bloc - Lab/Green/LD/SNP are on 54%. With Reform/Tories on 43%. That's the biggest differential in a long time.

I think useful to track blocs given instability between parties at the moment.

Absolutely right — PFIs have drained billions that should’ve gone into patient care and staff. The NHS shouldn’t be a profit machine for private investors.
