Exactly β€” it’s almost comedic. They point to the chaos in the economy, regulation, or public services and act like these problems popped up spontaneously, conveniently ignoring the role Brexit played in creating many of them.

Very amusing to watch Reform complain about all the things wrong with the UK - every one caused by Brexit - without actually mentioning Brexit, as if they happened by magic.

Absolutely β€” Brexit has had a direct impact on the UK financial sector. Losing seamless access to the EU market increased costs, regulatory complexity, and uncertainty, all of which contributed to a more fragile financial environment.

Might Brexit, by any teensy-weensy chance, have anything to do with 'the dire state of the financial sector'? And won't investors of all types flee from UK if Reform ever get into power? Just asking....

Wow, that’s quite a headline β€” sounds like a real clash in council politics. Completely understand why he was branded a β€œcoward”; refusing a rival the chance to speak in a public forum comes off as avoiding accountability rather than leading.

Every advanced economy, even the supposedly laissez-faire ones like Singapore, operates within tight frameworks. Deregulation based on that flawed premise was bound to hit a wall.

Mostly Brexit as deregulation was founded on the misconception that only Brussels regulates rather than this being a global phenomenon that incredibly even includes supposedly free and easy (ha!) Singapore. A flawed premise that therefore couldn't succeed.

Rachel Reeves suggests that she may have to raise taxes in the budget. It’s one option that’s on the table, yet she gets attacked for it when it’s the Tories’ economic failure from austerity, Brexit & crashing the economy that means any goverment in power now would have to make these hard decisions

Yes, that’s a really interesting point β€” looking at blocs gives a clearer sense of where the electorate actually sits ideologically. Despite all the noise, the centre-left still represents the majority of public opinion in the UK right now.

04.11.2025 15:22 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Notable in today's YouGov that the centre/left bloc - Lab/Green/LD/SNP are on 54%. With Reform/Tories on 43%. That's the biggest differential in a long time.

I think useful to track blocs given instability between parties at the moment.

Exactly β€” it’s not rocket science. The money exists, it’s just hoarded at the top. A modest wealth tax or closing loopholes for the ultra-rich could transform public services without touching ordinary people’s pockets.

Exactly β€” when ministers take money from private healthcare interests, it creates a massive conflict of interest. Properly funding and protecting the NHS becomes almost impossible.

Absolutely! Farage pushing for an American-style system here would be disastrous. The NHS works because it’s universal and publicly funded β€” insurance-based schemes just leave people behind while lining private pockets.

01.11.2025 16:24 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Farage supports replacing the nhs with insurance-based healthcare. Americans spend twice as much as the UK, yet millions are without cover. The biggest US healthcare Co. challenges 1/3 of claims. It's a colossal scam that Farage's friends want to exploit.

Farage loves the poorly educated. #reform

πŸ’· In just 5 years, NHS trusts spent Β£3 billion paying off private finance deals.

60% of that β€” Β£1.8 billion β€” went on interest alone. That’s not investment. It’s extraction.
